Sew, Knit and Natter
The group, formed in July 2010, meets weekly on Wednesday mornings from 10.00am to 12noon in the Upper Room.
This is the current group but new members are always welcome as are visitors.
Our projects so far have been:
The Uthando Project which provides dolls for children affected by the problems of the Aids epidemic in Africa. We sent a large parcel of dolls to the project which were gratefully received.
Further projects have been a knitted nativity (Christmas 2010); Easter chicks and bunnies (Easter 2011); Dickensian mice (Christmas 2011).
We are now working on a “Saints Project” for the Church’s 125 anniversary celebrations in June.
We recently visited the Customs House in South Shields where we saw an excellent knitted exhibition of children’s picture book stories and fairy tales.
If you are unable to join us on Wednesday mornings but would still like to knit, patterns are available for our projects.
