After Sunday

The ‘After Sunday’ programme invites us to look at how our church as a community of faith can support its members as they address the challenges that arise in daily life.  We hope to do this by encouraging groups to discuss both issues for the church e.g. ‘Strategy for Elders’, ‘Eco Congregation’, ‘Communion for Children’ and for individuals such as the work, family, or personal faith – issues that were identified on Discernment Sunday.

Lords Table Cloth -a Faith/Life Conversation.

In order to encourage these groups and give them tools to help in addressing these issues, the ‘After Sunday’ team has adapted a reflective/active process (similar to the Pastoral Cycle) which it calls ‘faith/life conversations’ and we at All Saints’ have called the ‘Lord’s Table Cloth’.

Thirty one members have now attended sessions of the Lords Table Cloth run by Revd Peter Sinclair.

The process has used by the Responsible Caring Group, the Strategy for the Elders group and the Children at Communion debate.  All have reported back enthusiastically about their experience with the process.

We are now looking to move on by developing groups that will look at how our faith help us in dealing with the transition points in our lives.

The ‘Lord’s Table Cloth’ process can be useful wherever people meet to have a thoughtful conversation which includes ‘Where is God in this?’.

Burning Bush

Burning Bush is a five session journey taken with others.  It is about recovering hope and taking responsibility for answering the unique call that is ours to answer.  As we read in Ephesians “His power working in us can do infinitely more than we can imagine”.

During the course we are most likely to discover that we are already expressing this divine spark in what we do “after Sunday”.  Join this encouraging space to reflect on your own inward outward journey.  Next course will be in Lent.
