Grounds Maintenance
We have been blessed with a beautiful church in an attractive setting. However these grounds which are made up of borders, gardens, footpaths and railings all need regular maintenance. The Garden of Remembrance is a sacred place, regularly visited by people of Gosforth and should be kept in good order.
The Grounds Maintenance Group meets on summer evenings or occasionally Saturday mornings to undertake a wide range of tasks. This is a selection of our ‘to do’ list: trim shrubs, sweep and weed footpaths, sand down and treat notice boards and benches, relay some paving stones, dig up self seeding trees, install nesting boxes, paint gates and railings etc., etc….
The tasks range from easy to strenuous but can be tailored to suit all abilities. New volunteers are always welcome. Working together is great fun and a very good way to get to know folk from Church a little better. Experience has proved that when large numbers are involved the task can be very sociable and fairly quickly completed! If you are interested in helping please contact me.
