The Parish Office

The parish office is situated above the church hall and is open from 9.00-12.00am every day except Thursdays, when a very friendly voice answers the phone and opens the door (via the intercom!) to callers – it belongs to Sue Jackson, our lovely and efficient parish secretary.

There are volunteers helping out in the office as well – if this would appeal to you, and you have a spare hour or two on a regular basis, please have a word with Sue.

What does she do?

Lots…

She takes bookings for baptisms, parties and activities/courses in the hall, concerts and recordings in the church.

Liaises with regular hall hirers – helps to keep everyone happy!

There is a lot of typing and printing to do for services, meetings, pew sheets, policy documents and forms, and an especially high volume of it at Christmas and Easter, for the AGM and other special events as well.

She sorts the posts and orders supplies.

She keeps the Electoral Roll.   And there are other records to be kept up to date and filed as well.

She offers invaluable support to the vicar, clergy, and is there for the (frequently new!) youth workers as they move into the adjacent office.

And a lot of external and internal e-mail correspondence as well as old fashioned mail and telephone calls of course…

But not least, she is a fascinating person with a super sense of humour and a very big heart, whom we are very lucky to have!
