Who Else Makes Services Happen? (apart from the Clergy and the Readers)

Our Sunday Morning Parish Communion at 9.30am has a whole team of helpers.  There are:

The servers and the crucifer

The choir and the Director of Music and/or organist

The Bell Ringers

The people who read the lessons

The people who write and say the prayers

The Sacristans who set out the Communion vessels

The Churchwardens, Deputy Churchwardens, Sidespeople and Stewards who welcome people, take the collection, organise the hymns books and tidy up

The people who lead and help at the Sunday School

The team who arrange the flowers, and

The people that serve the tea and coffee.

Other services require teams to perform many similar rôles, and occasionally  involve the same busy individuals.  In other cases, however, the service will include a group particular to its identity – for example, the Sunday @ 11:30 Music Group.
