Crucifers and Servers

Crucifer's crossBoth these activities are important examples of participation by members of the congregation in worship here at All Saints. The Crucifer and Servers carry out functions in the 9.30 service. We warmly welcome  new members of all ages. Teenage members of the congregation who find coming to church and sitting through the service a bit tedious, for example, can start as Acolytes.

Acolytes carry the candle at the head of the procession following the Crucifer and “serve” at the altar by assisting in the preparations for communion. The Crucifer leads the procession. There are 2 servers and one crucifer. If you are new, we will put you on with an experienced server so you only have to follow what they are doing! Full training is given beforehand.  We have a rota and the commitment would be no more than once a month, on average. Uniform (an Alb!) is provided.

So, if you feel like doing something different on a Sunday and seeing the service from a different angle, please contact Roger Rayner on 0191 213 2627 or Stuart Henderson on 0191 284 4617, email Stuartjhenderson@aol.com.
